I didn’t really care if the car doors were locked. The thing is, there isn’t much I can have him do while we’re visiting his parents that won’t risk tipping them off to the real nature of our relationship, and I promised him I’d never do that.
Sending him out in the rain for what was obviously a pointless errand might not seem like much, but the “Good boy!” note on the passenger seat let him know I wasn’t really worried about the car and reminded him that I’m still very much in charge, even if we are keeping it discreet.
